Step-1: First you have to open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows Logo Key + R button together at the same time.
Step-2: Now in the run dialog box type ncpa.cpl and then press the Enter button on your keyboard to open Network Connection.
Step-3: Once the Network Connection is open on your screen now you have to right click on the Wi-Fi option and then from the menu select the Status option.
Step-4: Once you click on the Status option a new Wi-Fi status pop-up will open and from here you need to click on the Wireless Properties option which is right next to Details option.
Step-5: Now in the Wireless Network Properties window click on the Security tab and under this tab for the Network Security key section you have to change the password.
Step-6: Now input the new password and then click on the Ok button to save the changes. You may now close the Network Connection Windows.
Once you have completed the steps you can now try to reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network and if the key is correct you are ready to go.

How to Update Security key using Command Prompt
Step-1: Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key + R button together at the same time. Now here type cmd.exe and then hit the Enter button to open the Command Prompt.
Step-2: Now in the command prompt execute the following command
netsh wlan show profiles
Step-3: You can use the following command to show the properties of that specific wireless network for which you are updating the security key
netsh wlan show profiles name=”profilename“
You can also substitute the Wi-Fi network for which you are updating the password with Profilename.
Step-4: Now to clear the existing security key for that specific wireless network you need to execute the following command
netsh wlan show profiles name=”profilename” key=clear
Now, when next time you connect to the same Wi-Fi network, it will ask you the new key. So enter the new security key and after verification, you will be automatically connected.
